Dialog Merdeka: An Inspiring Morning with Malaysia’s Leaders

27 August 2025 will be a date I won’t forget easily. I had the privilege to join the Dialog Merdeka: Kepimpinan Malaysia dalam Menghadapi Krisis at Yayasan Kepimpinan Perdana, Putrajaya.

Walking into the hall, I already felt a sense of history. The atmosphere was different, serious, yet full of anticipation. I wasn’t just attending an event, I was stepping into a space where Malaysia’s stories of leadership, crisis, and resilience were being shared by those who had lived it.

Listening to Tan Sri Dr. Syed Hamid Albar, Datuk A. Kadir Jasin, and Prof. Dato’ Dr. Sivamurugan Pandian, I realised how leadership is never about comfort, it is about making tough choices, holding firm to principles, and guiding people through uncertainty. Their words carried the weight of experience, and I found myself scribbling notes, not wanting to lose a single thought.

But the moment that touched me most was the closing remarks by YABhg Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. Seeing him there, still sharp, still passionate, still committed to sharing his wisdom, it gave me goosebumps. To hear him speak about Malaysia, about leadership, about the future, felt like a reminder: leadership is a lifetime calling, not just a position.

As I left the hall, I carried more than just information but I carried inspiration. I thought about my own path, my own responsibilities, and how I could contribute, in my own small way, to the bigger picture of this nation.

It was only a morning session, but the insights, the stories, and the presence of great leaders made it feel monumental. Truly, a morning well spent, and one I will remember for a long time.
