Iftar at Masjid Cyber 10: A Change of Atmosphere

Today’s iftar was back to routine, just me and My All. But instead of Masjid Cyberjaya, we decided to try Masjid Cyber 10 for a change.

The first thing I noticed? The cold. Compared to Masjid Cyberjaya, this mosque was much colder. And unlike our usual place, ladies also pray inside, so My All finally got to experience the freezing air-conditioning that I’ve been talking about.

The iftar meal was simple, packed food with one dish and one vegetable. Nothing fancy, but more than enough. After a food-heavy weekend, I actually felt grateful for the lighter meal. This week, I need to control my calorie intake, so this was just right.

Just before iftar, heavy rain poured down, soaking everything. The mosque’s yard became wet, and the children had the time of their lives playing in puddles. Watching them splash around, laughing freely, reminded me of my childhood in the kampung. Of course, I could already imagine their moms later, struggling to scrub off the mud stains. Worse still, if any of them caught a fever, there’d be no school tomorrow.. Hahaha..A nightmare for parents, a dream for the kids.

From now on, we’ll alternate between Masjid Cyber 10 and Masjid Cyberjaya. Each has its own charm, but I must say, Masjid Cyber 10 has a unique feel. The architecture is modern and minimalist, featuring exposed red bricks, glass walls, and open spaces. It’s a stark contrast to the traditional mosque design, yet it carries its own warmth in its simplicity.

And the air-conditioning? Let’s just say, every inch of the mosque is blasted with cold air. The temperature is easily below 20 degrees, no sweat, no discomfort. Terawikh in full comfort.

All in all, a simple but refreshing evening. Alhamdulillah.
